Coalition chair, Alice Bonner, and members, Doug Pace and Carmen Bowman, gave a Joint Provider Surveyor training focused on changing culture via person-centered care. The training was for Michigan surveyors at LARA (Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs).

Moving Forward Coalition receives funding from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund to support state-based nursing home improvements. Read our press release to learn more about our Michigan leadership team plans to build leadership and quality improvement skills.

We’ve released our nine (9) Action Plans outlining specific initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and work of nursing home residents and staff. Special “Action Plan” Coalition Conversations have been scheduled to review each plan’s intended impact. Led by the very committee members who wrote the plan, these events begin on July 19 (with our Chair, Alice Bonner) and run weekly through August and September. Be sure to register!

Thank you to the Michigan Health Endowment Fund for supporting Moving Forward in launching a state team in Michigan to address state nursing home quality based on our 9 action plans. We look forward to getting to work with our incredible colleagues in Michigan!

Thank you to Columbia University School of Nursing – The School has generously donated staff time and resources to analyze data describing the goals, preferences & priorities of people across the United States. This research is driving the work of Committee #7: HIT to develop and test an innovative and fully interoperable tool to collect residents’ goals, preferences & priorities at or before admission.
