Empowering Each Resident to Live in Ways that Matter Most to Them

Every nursing home resident deserves to live in a safe and comfortable environment–one that also provides nursing home teams with the resources and training they need to promote resident health and well-being.

The Moving Forward Coalition is working to create practical and sustainable change towards that vision NOW.

Moving Forward focuses on advancing seven goals outlined by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) in an April 2022 report aimed at improving nursing home quality.

Over the next two years, committee members – along with a network of experts, nursing home residents, and the general public – are developing, testing and promoting action plans that will improve the way the United States finances, delivers, and regulates care in nursing homes.

Our work is dedicated to producing lasting and equitable change for all nursing home residents in the United States.
